IONA The label says it all! This really is a super soft, sensuous blend of wool, silk & kid mohair, blended together at an aran weight - or Australian 10ply equivalent. 141m per 100g hank, and Colinette recommend this to be worked on 4.5mm needles at a tension of 19sts & 24 rows/10cm. | WIGWAM Wigwam is a long time favourite, pure cotton tape. It works to a 12ply equivalent, and is now supported by a brand new pattern book called 'STELLA'. BANYAN Colinette's newest warm weather release, this is a cool blend of 49% cotton and 51% viscose, and is a regular 8ply/DK weight. 102m per 50g hank, with tops from around 6 hanks. JITTERBUG Colinette JitterBug - newly available in an extensive 35 colour range is this easy care, 4 ply sock wool in 100% pure Merino. Every JitterBug hank includes a free sock pattern, an easy knit in 3 sizes, with just one hank required per pair. This yarn can be machine washed & tumble dried on a cool setting, or hand washed. Labelled as 291m per 110g knit socks on 2.5mm needles for 30sts/10cm, or garments on 3.25mm for around 28sts/10cm. AU$22.00 per 110g |

CADENZA
Cadenza arrived in our store in October 2006 - it's 100% Merino wool and oh so soft. It's also an easy-care yarn which you can machine wash and tumble dry (see label instructions). This wool comes in convenient 50g hanks, with approx 120m per 50g, and is generally knitted on 4mm needles to achieve a tension of 22sts/28rows per 10cm. You can use just about any regular 8ply/DK pattern of your choosing or see the Cadenza Pattern Book for dedicated designs. AU$12.00 per 50g |
| PARISIENNE
A new release in mid 2006, Colinette Parisienne is a luxury kid mohair yarn (70% kid mohair/30% Polyamide), with a generous 221m per 25g hank. It takes just 5 or 6 hanks to knit most of the designs in the stunning Parisienne pattern book. ! Work on 3.75mm needles for a regular fabric, or as large as 6mm for an even dreamier finish. TAO Luxury 100% pure silk ! So lustrous and so soft - this has to be the most luxurious silk we've seen. Colinette Tao comes in 50g hanks and has 117m per hank. Worked on 4mm needles to achive a tension of 24sts and 31 rows per 10cm. We suspect that everyone who sees Tao will fall in love with it instantly ! AU$32.00 per 50g |
LASSO This is a super soft yarn, wrapped with a lustrous chain of thread, composed of 100% polyamide. Finer than most other Colinette yarns (with 205 metres per 100g), Lasso knits up on a 4mm needle, giving about 19sts and 28 rows to 10cm. Typically 3 hanks for a sleeveless top, 4-5 for a simple long sleeve sweater. AU$22.00 per 100g |

ONE
ZERO
That same thick & thin slubby texture as Point 5, but half the thickness (and twice the length!). 100% Pure Wool, 100m per 100g hank. We recommend using a 7 - 8mm needle for One Zero. AU$19.00per 100g |

Colinette's Mohair is a quality yarn that is soft, light and lofty and it comprises 78% Mohair/13% wool/9% nylon. There are 175m per 100g hank, making it the equivalent of an average Australian 12ply mohair yarn. It knits up on 5.5mm needles to 18sts & 25rows. KITS
Colinette's newest kit release - the Perugino Throw is now available. The knitting isn't too complicated, but the end result is stunning. There's a great choice of colours to select from - pastels through to brights. Each kit contains a specially selected range of Colinette Mohair, Tagliatelli & Giotto, along with the pattern. | SHIMMER
5
Shimmer5 is an extra chunky yarn with the same thick and thin texture as Point 5. The big difference is the fibre composition - Shimmer 5 is 50% wool/50% viscose, giving it a gorgeous but subtle lustre. Needle size and tension are as Point 5, so both yarns/patterns are interchangeable. 48m per 100g. 7 - 9 hanks for patterns from Shimmer 5 Book, down to 3 for the shell top. AU19.00 per 100g |

PRISM
Colinette Prism is a popular tweedy effect yarn, created by plying a cotton around a wool core (the dye takes to each fibre quite differently, thus the distinctive finish). There are now a wide selection of patterns available for Prism in a number of the recent pattern book releases, averaging 6 - 7 hanks. 120m per 100g and worked on 6mm needles to give a tension of 14sts and 19r. ENIGMA Colinette Enigma is a 55% cotton/45% Rayon tape with lots of interest and pleasant contrasts of fibre, texture and thickness. What makes this yarn different is that it's a knitted tape with irregular lengths of thick & thin textures. The thick areas have the cotton & rayon elements combined, and the finer lengths between them are glossy rayon. 160m per 100g, knitted on 6mm needles at 14sts, or on 8mm at 11sts/10cm. GIOTTO This shimmering tape is 50% cotton/40% Rayon/10%Nylon and has a huge144m per 100g. Knitted on 8mm needles at a tension of 11sts to 10cm, it can take only 4 hanks for a long sleeve medium size sweater with generous ease - with tops starting at just two hanks. VERY economical. There's plenty of supporting patterns to be found in the Femme Fatale and Akashya pattern books! AU$24.00 per 100g |
TAGLIATELLI A luxurious 90% Merino wool/10% Nylon woven knitting tape that knits up into an ultra lightweight fabric. A lengthy 145m per 100g goes a long, long way. Typically knitted on 8mm needles, giving 11sts to 10cm, it takes an average of 4 to 5 hanks for long sleeve sweaters. Some garment patterns - using 12mm needles - take even less ! ZANZIBA 51% Wool/48%Viscose/1% Nylon, is a combination that gives Zanziba a beautiful sheen, coupled with the best qualities of wool. A chunky twist yarn with a thick/thin texture, patterns for Zanziba, Isis and Fandango are interchangeable. Tension 11sts to 10cm on 7mm needles - at 94m per 100g you'll need about 8 hanks for a medium size sweater. AU$19.00 per 100g |
FANDANGO Delightfully soft and comfy to wear, this is 100% Pure Cotton chunky chenille (from the French word for 'caterpillar' !). 100m to each 100g, the average required is 6 hanks. ISIS 100% Viscose, chunky chenille with 100m per 100g. A beautiful shimmer and the knitted fabric is fluid with a flattering drape. Combine the contrasting textures of Isis, Fandango & Zanziba for an interesting effect - even the humble stripe becomes something spectacular ! OTHER PATTERN BOOKS Most Colinette Pattern Books are written in support of one specific yarn type (e.g. 'Point Five'), but there are some super books in the collection that feature patterns in a variety of Colinette yarns. In 'Backstage', for instance, you'll find designs using different yarns including Tagliatelli, Giotto, Zanziba and Isis.
